Karen is happy to travel up to one hour away from Nerja.
If you are considering taking out private health insurance, you need to have cover 10 months prior to becoming pregnant. Sanitas, at present, will only cover for birth in Approved Spanish Hospitals. At present Karen is in consultation with other companies to pursue health insurance provision for home births.Watch this space.

Postnatal support is an area of maternity care that probably doesn't get enough attention.
Women, principally need a lot of support post delivery, both from the professionals and family.
Women are tired following delivery and the responsibility of a new baby can be a bit overwhelming.
New skills are learned and developed ie. breastfeeding, continuity of support in the woman's home is vital for the first 4 weeks. |
